9. Checking your luggage the wrong way
Carry on luggage is great because you can take it with you on the plane and you don’t have to wait for it after landing. But, if you are going on a long trip, you will need more travel gear, and if you need to overnight somewhere, you need to be sure to check your bag to the overnight location, and then check it again before the next plane departures, thus minimizing the risk of it getting lost.
10. Not checking the place you are renting
Online booking gives you the advantage of cross-referencing the booking notes of the owner with the reviews made by people who have stayed in that same place. You should always do your homework and read them carefully to make sure you don’t get any unpleasant surprises when you arrive at your destination.
11. Thinking that you know the language
We all like to learn a couple of new words when we choose to go on vacation to a country where they speak a different language. However, you need to be careful enough and make sure that you really know what you are saying, because there are some words that can be really similar and you, as a foreigner, won’t know the difference. The result can be funny, but it can also be offensive, so it’s always good to pay attention.
12. Not traveling as much as you should
The worst mistake a person who loves to travel can make is to not travel enough. Of course, you have your whole life ahead of you, but when you are younger, traveling is a completely different experience – you are more adventurous, you have more energy and it is the best time in life to explore.
